The Welland Canal connects Lake Ontario at the lowwer end with Lake Erie at the upper end with an elevation change of over 326 feet.
The cannal runs for 27 miles through Ontario Canada and includes 8 locks.
Their is a visitor center located a lock #3 that has a viewing platform and a museum that allows visitors to learn about the history of the Welland canal.
